About Me.

Hi, I'm Sean and I first began collecting sports cards in the summer of 1987 when I opened my first pack at the LCS (local card shop). I was already a sports fan but now I found that I could collect cards of my favorite players too. Reading the stats and stories of the players from the back of the card was interesting and helped me understand percentages and statistics. Around the third week of every month, I would wait anxiously as my monthly price guide would show up in the mail and I would thumb thorough the pages to see which cards values went up and down. I would then go to school and discuss the latest hobby trends with friends and deliberate about what player was better.

As a young adult, I fell away from collecting as other priorities took precedence in my life however, in 2012 I rediscovered the hobby and how it has evolved.  I was able to recapture that passion and love for the hobby that I once had as a kid. Over the last 12 plus years, I have been able to educate myself on many aspects of the hobby and how to navigate through all the noise to understand how to enrich my hobby experience.  Whether you are a long time collector, investor, or just curious about card collecting, I want to share as much of that hobby knowledge as I can with others.

My Hobby Philosophy:

  • Collecting is connecting

    • Collecting trading cards is a way to connect with someone or something, past or present. Collecting can be a meaningful activity that you can do with a friend or family member and form lifetime memories.

  • There is no "right  way" or "wrong way " to collect

    • Regardless of value, you should collect what you like and what makes you happy.

  • Take an active role in the hobby

    • I have found that going to local shops, shows, creating content, and finding friends within the hobby enriches the overall hobby collecting experience.

  • There is not just "one way" to collect

    • People can collect by sport, set, players, themes, parallels, etc. â€‹

  • Be respectful of others and what they like to collect

    • Just because it isn't something that I would collect, doesn't mean that I have the right to put it down. We should embrace different styles of collecting.

  • There is always something to learn

    • Regardless of your knowledge, there is always someone or something you can learn from. Be open minded, absorb knowledge, and pass it along to others
